PhD Workshop

Media Psychology Division PhD Workshop

The conference will be preceded by a Workshop for PhD students of media psychology, jointly organized by Sabine Trepte, Lena Frischlich, and Leonard Reinecke. The full day workshop will take place on the first day of the conference (September 8, 2021) at the Human Technology Center (HumTec; Theaterplatz 14, 52062 Aachen) at RWTH Aachen University.

The workshop will not be held as a hybrid event (i.e., no web-stream or video conferencing etc.) and physical presence of all attendees is expected. Covid-19 safety measures will be prepared in close cooperation with the local organizing team and in consideration of the pandemic situation in September.

All PhD students working on topics from media psychology and related areas are welcome to apply – especially students who are pursuing an academic career after their dissertations.

As part of this workshop, participants will work on their individual presentation and writing skills, discuss their PhD projects, receive advice on career planning, and will have the opportunity for networking. The entire workshop will be held in English.

To enable intensive group work and mentoring, a maximum of 9 PhD students will be accepted. Participation will be subsidized by the Media Psychology Division of the German Psychological Society. Participation is free, meals are included. Travel costs and accommodation, however, need to be covered by the participants themselves.
